Daffodils Bulbs in the Fountain State

Today our youth club learder Alan warke with two brave volunteers Marcin Szostak and Daniel

Perchard faced the cold and planted 1,000 daffodil bulbs in preparation for the city of culture next

year.

The bulbs were supplied by Housing Executive community education officer Patrick Duddy  as part

of their challenge to plants 10,000 bulbs with community groups throughout the city to bring a great

start to the City of Culture Year" .

We hope they help show this marvelous city in all its wonder when they flower in the spring for

derry's time to shine.

Remembrance Service

Last Friday the young people from the Cathedral Youth Club planted 99 crosses in the Apprentice Boys Garden in memory of the 99 local men who were lilled in the First World War, many of them from the Fontain area. It was great to see members of the community come for the service conducted by Rev. Dr. T. Robert Buick and Very REv'd William W. Morton. We also appreciate Duputy Consuler Mayor Mary Hamilton taking time out of her busy schedule to come to service in the Fountain
